"Above all else, children need to know and feel they are loved, wanted, and appreciated. They need to be assured of that often. Obviously, this is a role parents should fill, and most often the mother can do it best." ~Ezra Taft Benson

Random new pics of the boys :)

The boys are growing like weeds. We have all been sick for the past 4 weeks. This cold is hanging on for dear life! At least the boys are pretty good kids when they are sick. They started in a new daycare and they love it! I started a new job taking care of a lady with cerebral palsy. I absolutely LOVE it! 2 days a week I get to have adult conversations and time away from the kiddo's. This was much needed now that Gavyn is old enough to go to daycare a couple days a week. I hope everyone enjoys the pics :) I don't know what I would do without these 2 little blessings in my life!

Becoming a ZOO!!

WOW! Who knew you could accumulate so many animals in ONE WEEK? LOL When we purchased Pig, the lady told us that they are social animals and like to be in pairs or a group. Well, Kirk and I were on craigslist and there was a female guinea for $25 with cage included. To make a long story short, we purchased her :) She is adorable and so lovable.

We put her in quarantine until we new for sure she didn't have any mites, fleas, ringworm or a cold. The people we purchased her from, well, lets just say they weren't the cleanest with her. Took me an hour to clean the feces from the bottom of the cage. :( Makes me happy we adopted her.

Well, I decided to do some research about putting Meg and Pig together to play. Let just say, I should have done this research BEFORE we got Meg! OMGosh! Did you know that a sow (female guinea pig) goes into heat every 2-3 weeks? Their heat cycles are 16 days and they are able to start breeding at 3 weeks of age?

WHAT THE HELL did I get myself into?

I decided that I would introduce Meg and Pig one morning to each other as I don't want them not to know each other. This was the reason we adopted her. (Mind you, she is approx. 5 months old and Pig is around 8-10 weeks old) Well lets just say they got friendly with each other real quick like!! I had to pull Pig off her within 30 seconds of meeting!

I was laughing so hard I though I was going to pass out. Yes, I know to most of you this probably isn't funny, but if you could have seen it... It was stinking hilarious!

I told Kirk they CAN NOT be left alone together AT ALL!! Adult supervision required at ALL TIMES!! I told him we will need to see about getting one of them fixed so that we don't have any baby piglets. I called my animals normal vet and they do not preform this, so I called another vet that they recommended me to. They do neuter/spay guinea pigs. (YUS!!) Now the cost... $104! WHAT? These were supposed to be CHEAP PETS!! Guess it will be worth getting Pig "D-Nutted" so we don't have an oops!!

Here are a few pics of the new Meg. :)

Gunner the pup

We adopted a lil chocolate lab x a couple of days ago. I forgot how much work it is to have a puppy. OMGosh it is like having a new baby in the house and the peeing on the floor... URGH! But he seems to be a quick learner... Only one accident today! Here are a few pics of the lil guy!

Had to throw this one on here just cuz he is so stinking CUTE!!

The new pet

We went to the pet store to get new fish tank supplies and Kayden made his way over to the rodent area. For those of you that truly know me, I absolutely HATE mice! I can't even stand to look at the disgusting things! So going over by them gave me the eeby geebies!

Kayden stopped in front of the guinea pigs and said to them "Come out your house NOW!" It was really cute... Then he looked at me and said "Mom, I wanna see". So I asked the lady standing close by if we could go in and look at the guinea pigs and pet them. We went in and mind you we are right next to the mice, rats, ect... so I'm squirming... But I sucked it up to go in this little tiny room for Kayden so he could see the pigs.

Once in there, and the cute pig was out he didn't want to get close to it. lol Then once he saw that it was okay to pet (b/c mommy was petting it) he took a liking to it. We were in there approx. 5 min and he played with the other ones. We went back out to tell daddy we petted a pig and Kayden went over to the cages and said "this one". We told him no and got our stuff and checked out.

Okay I lied! He threw about a 5 minute fit on how he wanted a pig and Kirk and I just looked at each other with the "What the hell do we do?" look.... We did end up getting him out of Petsmart, but he cried almost all the way home. It was so sad :(

To make a long story even longer.... Once home, Kirk and I talked about it and I forgot something for the fish tank and had to go back to Petsmart anyways... We ended up deciding to get him the guinea pig. Kayden was already asleep so it was going to be a great surprise for the morning!

I went back (had only been gone for 45 minutes from Petsmart) and found the girl that helped us and told her I wanted to get the pig and she looked at me all sad and said "We sold the one you wanted"... WHAT?? I was gone for 45 minutes?? Holy crap! Anywho I looked at the other ones and ended up buying the one in the pics :) He is really fun and really cute and Kayden loves him!

There are some pics of the new set up in the tank also... All I can say is I am NEVER going that long without cleaning it again... YUCK!!

Growing like spring flowers

Kirk and I decided that it's time to put Gavyn in the "big boy" car seat. He was getting so long and so heavy to carry around in the rear facing. Here are pics from his first car ride in the front facing. He absolutely LOVED IT!!
